Kids were channel surfing on the new Roku over Christmas break, and found this Minecraft parody. Hilarious! Lance is just the right mix of paranoid and wildly impractical. (Disclaimer: a few bad words, nothing major.)
Took a teaser photo of a custom light I just finished building. It’s sitting on a dictionary Santa brought to one of the kids. The skeleton and light bulb images on the cover make the photo look just plain cool. :)

There is a very old story involving a man trying to fix his broken boiler. He tried and tried over several weeks but was unable to repair it. Finally, he gave up and called an expert. The engineer arrived, gave one gentle tap on the side of the boiler, and stood back as it sprang to life. Then the engineer presented the man with a bill. The man complained that he should have to pay only a small fee since the job took the engineer only a few moments. The engineer quietly explained that the man was not paying for the time he took to tap the boiler but rather the years of experience involved in knowing exactly where to tap.
This is what I do. Professionally at least. The parts in the photo have no business working together, and the technology was obsolete. Now it is not.

Not my photo, actually saw it on a Tumblr staff page. Like it a lot… the effect is almost impressionistic.
The kids have been getting a kick out of this video. They run around the house, one declaring, “There’s gotta be a better way!” and another replying, “And there is, Kevin!” Then hilarious laughter ensues.
